Quite often, good intentions of eating healthy and stocking the fridge with fresh produce can take a wrong turn during the week, as schedules pick up in pace and you don’t have time to make as many dishes as you had hoped. Before produce goes rancid, here’s what you can do to save 3 common food items.
Food Saving Tips for Fresh Produce
- Leafy Greens –> Chop and seal in a freezer safe bag. De-thaw before use.
- Bananas → Peel and seal in freezer safe bag. Add to frozen smoothies to add natural sweetness and a refreshing element
- Yogurt → Combine yogurt, fruit, vegetables, etc. and make frozen yogurt pops.
Don’t be afraid to combine all of these ingredients in a smoothie, add to a freezer-friendly bottle and de-thaw as you need them during the week. Click here for a smoothie recipe to get you started!
