One of the most simple, yet effective ways to boost overall health is by giving special attention to one of our most important organs: the liver. Here is why you should love your liver.
What Are the Main Functions of the Liver?
The liver is responsible for performing over 500 functions in the body. Including liver-supporting nutrients and implementing lifestyle changes, such as adequate sleep, movement, and meditation, will benefit not only your liver but the entire body.
- Cleanses blood and clots
- Metabolizes alcohol, drugs and environmental chemicals
- Neutralizes and destroys poisonous substances
- Manufactures essential body proteins
- Regulates your hormones
- Regulates supply of essential vitamins/minerals such as iron and copper
When working with a new client, I always inquire about meal timing. Especially, when do they eat dinner? Finishing dinner by 8 pm is ideal, so adequate digestion happens before “Love Your Liver” time, which takes place approximately between 11:30 pm – 2 am. This when your liver is working it’s hardest and it’s best to have a near-empty stomach so it can function optimally.
